Roots of Fight — Miles Davis Classic Grey Sweatshirt
“I’m always thinking about creating. My future starts when I wake up every morning… every day I find something creative to do with my life.”
Miles Davis. The Prince of Darkness. The counter to everything square, whose trumpet soared where no one dared.
Born and raised in East St. Louis, a stone’s throw from the Mississippi, Davis poured his soul into jazz. From the sounds of Black radio in the 1940s to Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong to his idol Charlie Parker, he took the notes higher—made them brood, and shaped them into liberation itself.
Early on he joined Eddie Randle’s Blue Devils in St. Louis and began making a name. Soon it was New York City: legendary nights at Minton’s Playhouse, Monroe’s Uptown House, and every swaying spot in Harlem. Bebop was alive.
Part of ROF’s Jazz Collection, this New York–themed Miles Davis sweatshirt lets the notes play on.
