Amandla LP

Miles Davis - Amandla (Rhino Reserve 180g Vinyl LP)

Originally released in 1989, Amandla marked the third and final collaboration between Miles Davis and producer/bassist Marcus Miller, following Tutu and Music from Siesta. Blending jazz with funk, go-go, zouk and electronic textures, the album captures Miles continuing to push his sound forward during the final years of his career.

Featuring an expansive group of musicians alongside Davis and Miller, Amandla moves from the driving rhythms of “Catémbe” and “Hannibal” to the title track and the closing “Mr. Pastorius,” a tribute to legendary bassist Jaco Pastorius.

This Rhino Reserve edition presents Amandla on 180-gram premium-quality vinyl, with lacquers cut from the original master tape by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab and pressed at Fidelity Record Pressing.
